History of Formation and Development of Dam Ao Chau
According to legend, Dam Ao Chau is a place where gods and fairies once appeared. It is considered the resting place of King Hung Vuong during his hunting trips. King Hung fell in love with the scenery of mountains and water here, leading to the construction of a temple to worship the deities. Some even believe that Dam Ao Chau is the birthplace of the dragon and elephant, two important mythical creatures in Vietnamese culture.
According to historical documents, Dam Ao Chau was discovered in the late 19th century by French explorers.
