According to legend, Heavenly Pond - Fairy Stream is where the fairies often come to cool off. Ngoc Hoang offered well water to create waterfalls, gradually forming ponds. One day, a young man named Ly Cong Uan passed by, met a beautiful fairy named Quynh Hoa. They fell in love and became destined for each other. Later, Ly Cong Uan became the king, moving the capital from Hoa Lu to Thang Long, considering Heavenly Pond - Fairy Stream as the "first great blood vessel, the precious land of the emperor."


According to another legend, Heavenly Pond - Fairy Stream is where a large dragon lives. This dragon has great strength, able to control wind and rain, protecting this land. One day, a pregnant woman passed by, caught the attention and fascination of the dragon. The dragon transformed into a human and had a relationship with the woman. After giving birth, the woman left, leaving the child for the dragon to nurture. This child later became the first Hung Vuong king.


According to historical documents, Heavenly Pond - Fairy Stream was discovered in the late 19th century by French explorers. They recorded the beautiful natural landscapes here and named it "La Cascade des Fees" (The Waterfall of Fairies). Later, in the 1930s-1940s, this area was developed into an eco-tourism zone by French entrepreneurs.


After liberation, Heavenly Pond - Fairy Stream received attention and investment from the local authorities. In 1996, this tourist area was recognized as a historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
